Concessions Information Management System (CIMS)

EIS Australia design, developed, customised, maintain and support the CIMS solution for Smart Service Queensland (SSQ).  

Since 2006, SSQ has been using CIMS to administer and manage one off assistance to Utility / Energy customers that cannot pay their utility and/or energy account.  CIMS assists SSQ personnel in processing the

  • Home Energy Emergency Assistance Schemes (HEEAS)

The Home Energy Emergency Assistance Scheme: is for low-income households who've experienced a short-term financial crisis or unforeseen emergency that has limited their ability to pay their current electricity or reticulated natural gas bills.  It is one-off emergency assistance to help with paying utility customers home energy bills.

  • Medical Cooling & Heating Electricity Concession Scheme (MCHECS)

The Medical Cooling and Heating Electricity Concession Scheme helps with electricity costs for people who have a chronic medical condition, such as multiple sclerosis, autonomic system dysfunction, significant burns or a severe inflammatory skin condition, which is aggravated by changes in temperature.

The CIMS solution can be extended and integrated to accommodate the process additional schemes.

EIS Australia's CIMS solution decreased the amount of administration by approximately 40%, especially for the high volume HEEAS applications received by the SSQ Concessions unit.

Payments, data entry, letter runs and assessment of claims processes have all been improved as a result of the CIMS solution. 

CIMS is used by staff for the bulk of the day for data entry, running matching reports to assist in assessing claims and assisting in customer service calls.
